Proverbs as Affirmations; a Thing of Beauty

One of the verses that I have been pondering about from time to time is from Proverbs 25:4. It talks about - take the impurities out of silver and there shall be a thing of beauty. This is paraphrased, as this statement is said in a variety of ways in various Bibles.

Anyway, that is the gist. And that is what I ended up doing when I translated Proverbs into affirmations. I removed the fear based statements and threats, and worded the remaining information into positive statements. Statements that could be easily understood, and understood with kindness and love.

That is one of the first things that I was taught about God, as a young child; that God was love.

When I was a child in children's church, I remember singing songs about planting joy in our hearts, and having peace beyond understanding. All of that went away when I was perceived as old enough to attend adult church.

Looking back, I would have been satisfied staying in Children's Church if I knew what was awaiting in the other one.

Anyway, I did it. I took away the drudge, fear, and threats, that were in the various Bibles that I used, when transforming those verses into affirmations.

And now the verses are worth reading. They are kind, they are loving, they paint a picture of God as Love.

They provide a way to get to know God in a new way, a more personal way, and a more loving way.

May you be blessed with knowing God as being kind and loving. Read more kind and loving thoughts about God in Proverbs as Affirmations. The highlighted text links below the picture will take you to Amazon.

There is a journal version (8-1/2 by 11 inches, pictured on the right), which includes lines to write the affirmations for added reinforcement, or the portable smaller version (6 by 9 inches, pictured on the left), without lines, which is easier to carry.

Much blessings to you on your journey.
