Proverbs as Affirmations: Pray for Your Children

Chapter 31 is one of my favorite chapters. It features a prayer to say for your child/children.

The first verse is the opening for the prayer:

I am thankful that I am connected to God, and that these are the sincere words of me as a parent.

You are my dear child, the answer to my prayers.

What shall I tell you?

Let these words be your own if you so choose, and that they be good for all concerns.

I am thankful that I use my energy for the true desires of my heart.

I give that which I also wish to receive.

I keep my words pure.

I foster love in my heart.

And it goes on, with many words of wisdom on how to be and live righteously, followed by rewards for right living.

Here is the whole prayer printed on posters. It is a lovely gift for yourself and or other parents and new parents. A blank line is provided to write in a child's name for a personalized gift.

May you be blessed with a loving relationship with your child/children if you have any. Read more good parenting thoughts in Proverbs as Affirmations. The highlighted text links below the picture will take you to Amazon.

There is a journal version (8-1/2 by 11 inches, pictured on the right), which includes lines to write the affirmations for added reinforcement, or the portable smaller version (6 by 9 inches, pictured on the left), without lines, which is easier to carry.

Proverbs as Affirmations: With God

Writing these Proverbs into Affirmations has been a new way for me. A new way to think about God. And a new way of achieving being a better person on a more regular basis. Chapter 30 starts off with this very idea.

I am thankful that these words are of a new way.

God is with me. God is with me. With God, I have help.

It is true. I have seen God in a new way. With God, I have help.

God is a shield unto me. I put my trust in God.

God keeps me good.

God keeps contentment in my heart.

God keeps me appreciating the wise.

God keeps ease of forgiveness in my heart.

I enjoy being connected to God.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Correcting Children

I am up to Chapter 29 in my reading of Proverbs as Affirmations. My self talk has greatly improved, and I am taking more positive action.

More information is given about leaders.

I am glad that with righteous leaders, the people rejoice.

We now elect righteous leaders.

When a leader is concerned with justice, the nation is strong.

We now elect leaders that are concerned with justice.

I am learning to be more accepting. I grew up being taught that it was better to give than to receive. But someone has to receive in order for the giver to be able to give.

God gives to all of God's children, including me.

I found the next affirmation helpful.

I use kind correction and guidance, which is good for children.

When I brought something to the attention of my daughter, I remember thinking - it can be kind and she can learn. The action that I then took and the outcome were both pleasant. When I took the time to apply what I am learning in these chapters, things are turning out for the better.

May you be blessed with the tools to give good guidance to children. Read more thoughts of good guidance in Proverbs as Affirmations. The highlighted text links below the picture will take you to Amazon.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Leaders

I found it interesting that an early affirmation in Chapter 28 mentions bravery.

I like that righteous people are brave.

One might think that if one is connected to God, and simply obeys God to do what is right, then why would this person need to be brave. It is because, the things that may be right thing to do, isn't necessarily in that person's comfort zone. When I first started expanding my acts of kindness, it took a certain amount of bravery, on my part, to be kind outside of my comfort zone.

More interesting things about this chapter are the verses about leadership. Not necessarily individually, but national leaders.

A nation is strong and endures when it is led by leaders of understanding.

I elect leaders of understanding.

Wouldn't it be great to have leaders of understanding in office, no matter what country you live in. I invite you to join me in affirming the affirmations about leaders.

I rejoice that we have leaders who have understanding.

Leaders who love honesty, and are content with their own, prolong their days.

I enjoy when the righteous are in power, the goodness increases.

May you be blessed with safe leaders of integrity in your life. Read more helpful thoughts in Proverbs as Affirmations. The highlighted text links below the picture will take you to Amazon.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Contentment

In Chapter 27, we learn some basic ideas for fostering contentment.

I am thankful that I am connected to God.

I am content with today.

We have been instructed in previous chapters to give praise. In this chapter, we learn that it's okay to accept also praise.

I let other people praise me, even strangers.

I accept praise kindly.

I find that when I foster contentment in my own heart, then more things to be contented about, shows up.

Overall, I found this chapter to be a pleasant read that reinforced a lot of what was said in previous chapters, as well as a few new tips on living.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Repetition

In Chapter 26, the way we speak is mentioned again:

I enjoy giving praise for what is good.

I take time to think of a good answer.

I can say that I am becoming more aware. I do tend to give more compliments now than what I used to do.

I recall having learnings from this next affirmation, from a previous time that I read this chapter.

I am wise and understand parables.

If you have read any of my previous posts, you may remember that I started reading the New Testament with much more interest, and had new insights from them. I read them with new eyes, so to speak.

Anyway, the thing about parables, is that is what Jesus used to convey a certain meaning, learning, etc., through parables.

Since our speech is suppose to be pure and kind, and we are to pronounce the innocent, innocent; then we are probably meant to keep our speech good about whomever we are talking about. Hmmm. Care to chime in on this. I say that with a bit of humor at this point in time. It is something I am working on.

Another interesting thing that I am thinking of right now, is that Jesus never took credit for anything. He said things like - My Father did ..., or Your faith has healed you.

It was all about one's mindset, belief, and listening to that inner heavenly guidance. We have been told in other books in the Bible, that the kingdom of God is within.

So breathe a sigh of relief, if you can; we do get lots of repetitions and reinforcement in this affirmation book, on how to be. If there are old beliefs that seem to dictate what shows up in your life, they got there by repetion and adopted belief. Trhough repetition and new adopted beliefs, the old ones can be transformed into new ones.

May you be blessed with repeating more good thoughts. Read more good thoughts in Proverbs as Affirmations. The highlighted text links below the picture will take you to Amazon.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Neighbors and Enemies

In writing yesterday's post, I had an epiphany of sorts. I shared my ponderings about God, and came to the realization, that the God that is Spirit, is the God that rings true for me. I still believe in God, and I still believe in this project. This morning, I felt more empowered to continue on with it.

And now onward, with Chapter 25.

Chapter 25 of the Bible Proverbs has one of my favorite verses, which was pretty consistent in the different Bibles: A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.

I didn't want to use any verse word for word, so below is the affirmation that I wrote in its place.

I speak kindly and wisely; it is like a picture of beauty.

Correction given by an experienced person to an obedient listener is valuable.

I speak correction in kind ways.

Neighbors are mentioned in this chapter as well.

I only visit my neighbors now and then, keeping my welcome fresh.

Building trust in yourself to choose the kind action is only part of it. We are also encouraged to see these traits in others.

I depend on those that are reliable.

I am at peace in myself.

Chapter 25 also tells us what to do when we don't feel like we are in the company of reliable people.

If another is hungry, I feed them.

If another is thirsty, I give them water to drink.

I changed the word enemy (that was in the Bible) to another, to help think of others in a better light and to not already give anyone a label.

Proverbs as Affirmations: My Ponderings about God

Today I have been wondering about God. God can be different things to different people. In the Bible, God is said to be Spirit. So is this Spirit, the substance in which we all live and breathe. Do the vibes that we are feeling affect how God, Spirit, responds to us.

Also, in the Bible, God is referred to as our Father. With that connotation, people expect God to communicate with us as his children.

Which is it, or is it both, or something else?

One of my biggest arguments that I had with God, was when my then concept of what I thought God was, was shattered. I had had a relationship with God, the father figure one. I had prayed to God on a pretty much regular basis. Back in the 70's, I prayed practically every night for God to make the Vietnam war end. I wondered why it wasn't happening. Didn't God hear my prayers?

There were things from my youth that I needed to get over. One of the ways I did that was to listen to a guided imagery tape, and imagine things that I liked and felt good about. I was having fun with it; it was an exercise in relaxing and playing with my imagination.

Low and behold, some of my imaginings started coming true. I was floored and surprised. Those things that I had spent time with in my imagination were coming true. I hadn't prayed for those things to come true, but they did, nonetheless. Why did those things come true when the many things I had prayed about hadn't.

I gave God, of my understanding at the time, a big piece of my mind; and my relationship with God was forever changed.

Nevertheless, I started learning about affirmations, and focusing my mind. I know that those things work, when I work them and stay on track. And I now see God as a Universal Spirit, that responds to us all, but perhaps not in the way that we may think or have been accustomed to.

Since I had, had such a strong relationship with the previous God of my understanding, that longing took awhile to move on from. I re-wrote the book of Proverbs into affirmations, as part of my own spiritual journey. I still wanted to do what God wanted me to do.

I found out, that according to my rewrite of Proverbs into affirmations, that God pretty much wants for me, what I want for me. A good life, good feelings, being kind, being successful, etc. But then, it also says to be reverent of God, to honor God. This part took awhile to learn. I had to figure out who God was.

What I have come to learn is that God, Spirit, is a part of each one of us, that always hears everything we tell it, because that Spirit is inside of us and around us. What we constantly tell ourselves, is what we see in our outer world. The kingdom of God is within.

I wanted to share my learnings with you, so that you can learn from them too, and perhaps have an easier transition.

As for Chapter 24, I am quite impressed with the following affirmation.

I think good thoughts.

I think this is most important, to think good thoughts, and be kind to one another, no matter what one's concept of God is.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Life Tips

Chapter 23 is a bit lighter, though I am sure it depends on where you are coming from.

It starts out with thoughts on eating.

When I sit to eat, I consider what is before me and I give thanks to God.

I only eat what is sufficient for me.

I eat what is good for me.

Attitude is important too.

I enjoy eating with those whose words are kind and their hearts also.

The relationship with God is ongoing.

When my heart is wise, God's heart rejoices.

How to think of your children is mentioned.

I am happy with my children.

Being sober is reinforced.

I stay on the sober path. My thinking stays clear.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Cleansing

Today I found myself using a form of an affirmation that I had read yesterday, the one about - God ponders our hearts and cleanses them.

I had felt different old emotions and beliefs come up and I was able to mentally say to each one - God cleanses that. Each time I did, that particular one cleared up. Another followed shortly behind, and I just repeated that statement, and it cleared up too, and the next, and so on. It seems like I was on a roll. But I wanted to get back to being at peace, peace with myself and peace with God.

I also repeated to myself - I honor God. Before these affirmations, I was busy trying to please myself and others, not that, that isn't good to do sometimes. But I'm glad that I am focusing now on my main relationship being with God.

So, on with some of what Chapter 22 is about.

It is about broadening ones scope.

All people meet together; God is the maker of us all.

I teach children how to live, and they remember it all of their lives.

The wise are my friends.

When I think about these verses, I am reminded to stop and think. There is a bigger picture, and did I help to create the one that I currently see, and how do I create the picture I'd rather see?

Proverbs as Affirmations: Rich

Did you ever think that by changing how you are feeling about something may affect the outcome? This is the thought that came to my mind as I was reading the beginning of Chapter 18.

I am thankful that I am connected to God.

The leaders's hearts are like a stream in the hand of God; God turns them at will.

How can this be? Are our inner thoughts connected to the inner thoughts of others. Is God that connection?

I do recall some times that I've had my inner thoughts change, rather dramatically, and low and behold, the outer experience changed quickly and accordingly. Hmmm.

God ponders our hearts and cleanses them.

I think though that we do have to set the agenda for that. I know that much of my outward changes happen because of my inner changes. It feels reassuring that God cleanses my heart. I definitely give God permission to cleanse my heart. Do I give the instruction? - Yes. "God, cleanse that thought." Hmmm.

Again, kindness is very important; it is an ongoing theme.

There are also thoughts on being rich, along with seeing good for your neighbor.

I enjoy seeing good for my neighbor.

I live in wealth and luxury.

I give gifts in secret. That calms the receiver.

It does seem that being good and seeing good for others, is part of the key to having good and riches for yourself.

More insight on Wisdom and Integrity are given in Chapter 20.

I use honest weights and honest measures, which is God's delight.

Customers like a fair and just price. My prices are fair and just.

I take collateral that is surety for a stranger.

I enjoy getting good advice and succeeding.

By wise advice, I take action.

Trusting God is also mentioned.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Willing to Learn

I know that one is suppose to walk a more joyous path with God, and I have improved in many ways. Today, although the weather turned out better than predicted for today, for which I am very grateful, I did find myself getting caught up in the hype of it all. I wanted to go to work today, and I was able to, and the roads were still in good shape for the whole time. Again, I am grateful. Yet I know I experienced disappointment thinking about what the weather was going to to. Years later, I started affirming to God about my desire for the weather, and many times the weather has turned out much better than what was called for on the weather channel.

Now on with Chapter 19.

There is more insight on kindness.

Wealth makes many friends. I enjoy giving gifts.

In a previous chapter, it was mentioned about being generous. I have found that there are levels of generosity. There is the pure great feeling of feeling very giving in the moment, when you just know it's the right thing to do, and it is joyous. I felt that the other day, and it was great.

My desire is kindness.

I treat my parents with kindness.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Gods Will

In Chapter 18, traits of character building are built upon.

I enjoy speaking words of Wisdom.

I enjoy putting forth good work.

The relationship with God is also built upon.

I am righteous, and my heart is connected to God.

I enjoy having wealth through God.

I am peaceful and in awe of God.

A sense of helpfulness is occurring.

I am glad to help others and others are glad to help me.

Throughout the day I have more easily found ways to be kind, and have also more easily taken kind action. I felt the appreciation of others. I am feeling more contented and peaceful.

When an old fear came up, I just noted it, mentally said to it - "It is just fear. Feel the fear and do it anyway." And I continued on with the positive action.

When I was a kid, I was told many times about doing God's will. But no one was ever really able to tell me how to find out what God's will was for me. I believe now that when one builds a relationship with God, and affirms God's will, then you will sense, in some way, what God's will is for you.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Progress

Chapter 17; I am remembering that these are affirmations, the verses are statements of what I am affirming, of what is to come.

But I have seen the progress, so I am staying the course. I am willing for these affirmations to work in my life.

I enjoy being good to all of God's children.

Talking about others probably isn't being good to or for them, even if I don't know them personally. I choose to get better about that.

My family is wise. We notice and praise that which is good in each other.

I see that we are being calmer with each other, and kinder too.

We are wise and speak of excellent things.

I am wise and continue to learn.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Peaceful

Today I have been reading Chapter 16 today; part of it is about choosing righteousness and being peaceful.

Overall I have been more peaceful and calm. I'm liking that. Here are some of the affirmations from Chapter 16.

God loves the peaceful heart.

My heart is peaceful.

By mercy and truth, my iniquity is purged.

I revere God, and choose righteousness.

I am upright and choose righteousness.

Health is mentioned too:

My pleasant words are as honeycomb, sweet to my soul and health to my body.

That is very nice to think of, that our pleasant words can contribute to our good health.

As I am continuing to transform my thinking, which transforms how I respond, I realize the meaning of this next verse.

I am calm. I have control over my own spirit.

I appreciate reading these affirmations, I am finding them helpful.

I still recall a verse from a previous chapter that I continue to use: Love forgives all offenses. I am love. I still find this one quite helpful.

Have you found any of them helpful too? Do you have any favorites? I would appreciate hearing which ones they are. You can share in the comment section below.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Enjoy

In reading Chapter 15 I was pleased by the reading. In re-reading it later, I was pleasantly surprised by the number of times that the enjoy was mentioned.

Joy is such an important aspect of any kind of lasting transformation. Joy is what makes life worth living. We strive for more joy. We come up with reasons to celebrate. When you feel joy, you are also cultivating a spirit of gratitude. What better way to create a relationship with God, than one that includes joy.

I enjoy being connected to Spirit.

I enjoy a gentle and kind answer; it is good.

I enjoy giving knowledge to those who are ready to hear.

I enjoy my treasure.

I enjoy listening to wisdom.

I enjoy being in reverence of Love.

That last affirmation is so important to me. I remember being taught that we were to fear God. But one of the other Bibles that I translated from had used the word, awe instead of fear. That made so much more sense to me.

What a joy it is having the right word at the right time.

That is the kind of relationship that I prefer to have with God. The God that I revere, am in awe of, and that I find awesome, and enjoy.

Today, I am going to share my reading of Chapter 15 out loud. Enjoy.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Goals

Much of Chapter 14 is I am statements. God is known as the great I am. I guess it serves us well to follow God's way.

Many of the verses declare being wise, and gives more insight into the wisdom.

I am wise.

I am wise. I understand my way.

Much of this reminds me about goal setting. Many of the things that I have become and achieved is because I had set a goal. Whether I actively thought about the goal, wrote it down, affirmed it, or imagined it. In whichever way I chose at the time, I had set or intended a goal.

Having a goal is helping to lay the path for your way. Having a goal sets your sights on where you are going.

I am wise. I stay on the right path.

Again, the goal is set, sights are set. Keep your eyes on the goal and your path shall be straight.

I envision good.

Thank you for stopping in and sharing in this journey.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Positive Speech

Today was my reading of Chapter 13.

I was reminded about keeping my own speech pure.

I like that I eat well by the fruit of my mouth.

I keep my mouth and I keep my life.

I had been a bit disappointed by some news that I found out. I wondered why it had turned out the way it did, and then I remembered about something I had said before. Then affirmations that talk about keeping my path straight come to mind. Yes, that is one of the ways to keep my path straight - through my speech.

So I shall remember that and take it to heart. I did a clearing prayer and that helped to get me to a better place and a better frame of mind.

When one starts using positive affirmations, it really goes better when all of your speech is in the positive way.

I just chuckled as I read the affirmation, I persevere. I act with knowledge.

I guess this one is becoming more true. I am diligent; I keep pursuing. I shall be acting with knowledge, especially as I continue to learn and practice these teachings.

Read these teachings and more in Proverbs as Affirmations. The highlighted text links below the picture will take you to Amazon.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Kindness and Poll

Chapter 12 reminds me of peaceful and kind thoughts

These are some of the verses.

I enjoy having kind thoughts.

I take good care of my family.

I am wise and think before speaking.

Kind words bring cheer.

Reading these affirmations now brings peace to me. When I read them for the first time, years ago, I wasn't so peaceful about it. I was still learning to be more kind, and to be kind more consistently. It is easier this time around. Kindness like anything, can can improve with practice.

Update: I did have a poll here about whether or not you wanted to see Proverbs as Affirmations get published. But now it is.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Mind Set

I looked back over Chapter 11 to refresh my memory. For actually, the verse I found myself repeating today was from Chapter 10.

Love forgives all offenses. I am love.

I used that quite a few times today. As things came up that didn't have a good feeling, I repeated this verse to myself. I found it helpful and soothing. It kept me on a more even keel which is different than what I would have normally done, on days before I began this new re-reading of Proverbs as Affirmations. Amen to positive change and repetition.

The other thing I want to mention, is that things that you say and read aloud from these pages, may not be true for you in the present. Some affirmations may already be true for you. For the other affirmations, they are seeds that you are planting. Then you get to nourish those seeds and watch them grow. And as with any plant, they continue to need nourishment to thrive. That's the way it is when working with affirmations. It takes repetition to help them take hold and to thrive, and to become your new mind set.

Good character directs my way.

I enjoy being confident in God.

I sow good thoughts and am secure in blessings.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Gladness

I found myself continuing to change. Mostly in little ways, or at least a little bit at a time.

I caught myself from saying something and either thought of a kind way to express what I wanted to say, or say nothing at all.

In reading Chapter 10, I came upon an affirmation that just felt so pleasant.

My hope is gladness.

I practiced thinking gladness throughout the day. It felt a little different than when I had thought of gratitude. It was a nice switch to think of gladness; it was also pleasant.

Most of the verses in Chapter 10 are of the character building kind and also establishing and reinforcing your relationship with God. Some of the affirmations I made from Chapter 10 are:

I gain wealth by honest ways and my life is saved.

I am fed by God.

Love forgives all offenses. I am love.

I've been practicing this one today as well. A later affirmation is helpful:

I fill my heart with love.

I find these affirmations pleasant to read, and to absorb.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Wisdom and God

Today was the reading of Chapter 9. More details are given about Wisdom.

Reverence of God is the beginning of wisdom.

I was still trying to figure out exactly who or what Wisdom is. I do know that Wisdom has a lot of positive attributes, and being connected to Wisdom also seems quite positive as well. But sometimes Wisdom seems more like a place or a thing; then others it seems like an embodiment of very wise things to do and be.

By having wisdom, my days are multiplied, and years are added to my life.

From what I know about God, which is what I've read in the Bible, is that God is Spirit. I have also read that God is omnipotent and omniscient.

Therefore this Spirit is unlimited in authority and power, and knows all things. Could it be then, that this Divine Energy flows through each and every one of us, which I think it does. Does it mean that we are always communicating with God, even when we didn't know that we were?

Proverbs as Affirmations: Wisdom was created by God

Chapter 8 describes Wisdom. Wisdom is not just about being wise.

Wisdom is everywhere.

Wisdom uses sound judgment, and finds knowledge and understanding.

Wisdom's fruit is pleasant and a joy to receive.

Wisdom sounds like definitely being more than just being wise.

With Wisdom, I have understanding and strength.

Wisdom walks in the path of being just and kind.

I find much comfort in this chapter. We don't have to be smart and figure everything out on our own. God has created Wisdom. Wisdom is available to us all.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Respect

I am continuing to grow and transform. Today felt more gradual than previous days. I guess since I've been doing this steady for a week now.

One affirmation in Chapter 7 really got my attention when I read it this morning.

I respect my spouse and my spouse respects me.

I've read verses about love and commitment before, but not respect. When I read respect, it did not ring true for me. As the morning went on I began to question myself - What is respect? So I gave it some thought; respect to me is honesty, integrity, kindness. There might have been some more. So then I began affirming those qualities of respect about my spouse. Yes, I needed to see my spouse in a new light. Reading that verse helped to give me insight. It's kind of amazing how it all works.

Saying something as so doesn't necessarily make it so. Sometimes there may be work involved to help make it so.

Part of this path is learning and practicing a new way to talk, as well as a new way of thinkingk, and also following through with new action(s). Sometimes it feels more like work than simple acceptance. Then I work on having a more positive feeling, or just letting something be for awhile, whatever seems to work best for me at the time.

Respect can begin with respecting ones own self and your own words. Find out more in Proverbs as Affirmations. The highlighted text links below the picture will take you to Amazon.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Integrity

Chapter 6 has more insight on character building. It also offers a solution of integrity to get out of an erroneous promise.

I am easily released from any erroneous words or promises.

If I had made any, I hurry to the person or persons and ask to be released.

I take care to do it before that day's end.

So yes, there is an out that requires some action and integrity. It is important to ask. I have experienced this before, and it was scary for me to ask, but it did work out. And just saying, it doesn't necessarily have to be about money.

There is wisdom that is noted from ants.

I learn from the ants and become wise.

They work without having a leader.

They prepare their food in the summer and gather their nourishment in the harvest.

I am thankful that I learn; I am productive and a good example.

Sometimes there are examples like the above that are given instead of it all being affirmations.

It was nice to read that I am a good example though. A person that has been reading my blog told me that she has found it encouraging. That was so nice to find out. I found what she said quite encouraging myself.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Relationships

Today was day 5, meaning it was my reading of Chapter 5, of Proverbs as Affirmations. I got in a couple of readings before I went to work, another one after I got home, and I have been letting the day gel for awhile.

I also got in a walk around the block before going to work today. It's nice having the affirmations to read. As I walked around the block, I included a basic mantra of, thank you. I also remembered parts of some of the verses that I've been reading. The verses are now becoming more of my self talk. Interspersed with my self talk, is the short message I find myself saying; God's will.

I'm not always feeling pleasant when I mentally say, thank you; but I do think that it is helping my overall well being and attitude. I am catching myself more in the moment now and being able to pretty easily choose a more good feeling thought.

Chapter 5 builds more on having a spouse and how that relationship is:

I enjoy staying true to my vows.

I changed the word wife to spouse, as these wise sayings are really meant for both parties of a couple.

I delight in my spouse's affection. I enjoy my spouse's love.

I can say that, that hasn't been my normal self talk for quite some time. So it is nice having those kinds of thoughts replacing some of the old ones that I've had.

Listening to Wisdom is reinforced.

I listen to Wisdom. I pay close attention to Wisdom, and I keep my respect.

I am enjoying my readings and found myself looking forward to reading Chapter 5 this morning.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Wisdom and Insight

So far I am reading each chapter several times a day, at various times. Chapter 4 gives more information about what Wisdom is, and how important Wisdom is.

I follow the ways of Wisdom. I love Wisdom and Wisdom keeps me safe.

Being wise is my crowning glory.

I am thankful that I am led in right paths.

Earlier today I was wondering about a particular project that wasn't done yet. Then I focused on an image (in my mind) of both me and my husband being happy with the outcome and that the project was completed. Shortly afterward, I mentally asked who is to do this, and I did receive an inner message of a specific company's name. I shared that info with my husband. I am not sure what he or we will do with the information, but I am peace for following through with my guidance.

Some of the verses from the Bible were on the longer side. Affirmations work best when they are short, making them easier to remember. So if you are comparing these affirmations to the verses from the Bible, the affirmations will appear to be more spread out.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Insights and Tips

Repeating affirmations is helping them to become part of my consciousness. I have even found myself thinkng of them throughout the day.

Affirmation tips:

If you feel some resistance to saying an affirmation, say the affirmation again.

If there is still some resistance, notice where you are feeling that resistance in your body. Say in that area, mentally, - This is now my accepting of (whatever the affirmation is), spot.

The above may take some practice, but you may find it quite helpful in your transformation process.

Another tip, is to foster gratitude. The more you can do this, the more grateful you will feel, and that is a good thing. So notice things you like, that you appreciate. It can be small or it can be big. It can be something as simple as the clothes you are wearing and how they feel to your touch.

Another way to foster gratitude, is to mentally say, Thank you, to your inner self, God, or the Universe, throughout the day. Sometimes I say a string of Thank yous.

Chapter 3, Day 3:

As for some of the verses in Chapter 3, one is being acquainted with God and Wisdom.

I listen to God's wisdom. I simply obey God and therefore do what is good.

Remember that God is part of who we are. It is how we are made. The Spirit of God is everywhere, including in each one of us.

Health is also mentioned in Chapter 3.

I obey God which is health to my naval and marrow to my bones.

Another one is about giving.

I honor God by giving as God directs me. Remember that the Kingdom of God is within. Tell the inner Kingdom what it is that you want with positive statements.

On giving:

I also want to mention that giving was not always equated with giving to a church. I have read that in early biblical times, that people that farmed placed a portion of their picked produce out by edges of their fields for others to take what they needed. So it sounds so much more about just giving to one another, and that it doesn't have to refer to a church or organization; it can be to each other.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Life Giving

There are some new ideas in Chapter 2, and some of Chapter 1 is also repeated. A recurring theme is that I am connected to God, which can be reassuring. There seems to be repetition for what is really important, which is a good idea when using affirmations.

There is more info on describing knowledge and understanding.

Some affirmations that stand out to me are:

My insight and understanding keeps me on all good paths.

Wisdom comes into my heart. The knowledge is pleasant to my soul.

Although the affirmations are somewhat general in nature, they seem affirming to trust one's intuition more.

Thoughts on marriage is also mentioned in Chapter 2:

I respect my vows. I stay true to my spouse.

Proverbs as Affirmations: Character Building

Day 1 for reading Chapter 1:

Chapter 1 may not be affirmations in the normal sense - affirming things one wants to have; it is more about character building and developing and having a relationship with God.

Some examples of the affirmations are:

I am honest, just, and fair.

I have good character. I am at peace with myself.

I am connected to God. I listen to wisdom.

I rejoice in kindness.

Here are some fun stickers if you would like to share thoughts of kindness with others, or read the positive stickers around your home.

Some people have compared the verses from the Bible to the affirmations that I have written in Proverbs as Affirmations. The affirmations are more in number, however they are in the same order as the verses. Affirmations work best when they are short, making them easier to understand and remember. So when multiple ideas were mentioned in a verse, I split them up into shorted affirmation statements, making them easier to remember.

Learn more affirmations to develop character building by reading Proverbs as Affirmations: The highlighted text links below the picture will take you to Amazon.
